The Bridging Systems and Communities: Integrated Child Protection Services to Address Child Labour project, implemented by the Association of Academicians Union (AAU) with the support of UNICEF and the involvement of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security of Türkiye, aims to strengthen integrated child protection mechanisms and prevent child labour across Türkiye. Covering 26 provinces, including six focus provinces, the project prioritizes adolescents aged 15–17 who are at risk of child labour, promoting access to education, skills development, and safe employment pathways.
As the implementing partner, AAU coordinates capacity-building programmes for academics, students, and civil society organisations, alongside youth-led innovation laboratories, career development activities, and community awareness initiatives. The project aims to reach over 150 academics and students, strengthen the capacities of 30 NGOs, and support more than 240 adolescents through educational and career-oriented activities.
Through a comprehensive, community-based approach, the project seeks to enhance early identification and referral mechanisms, strengthen cooperation among public institutions and local stakeholders, and promote sustainable, inclusive child protection services that safeguard children's rights and future opportunities.
