Elimination of Child Labour in Seasonal Agriculture
Type: ILO Project
Project No: TUR/20/01/EUR
Duration: 2025
Role: Implementing Partner
The Elimination of Child Labour in Seasonal Agriculture Project, jointly implemented by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security – Directorate General of Labour and the International Labour Organization (ILO), aims to prevent child labour in seasonal agricultural work areas across Türkiye. The project is designed to protect children’s right to education, ensure their healthy and safe development, and strengthen families’ social awareness and resilience.
As the implementing organization in the field, the Association of Academicians Union (AAU) is carrying out comprehensive training, awareness-raising, and capacity-building activities across 17 provinces. The project is aligned with national policy frameworks, ILO Conventions No. 138 and No. 182, and Sustainable Development Goal Target 8.7. It follows a structured implementation approach consisting of three phases: inception, implementation, and closure.
Through this project, AAU aims to strengthen access to education for children, enhance public awareness on safe and decent living and working conditions, and foster cooperation among local actors. Protecting the future of children and supporting social welfare, this initiative represents a strong example of a sustainable, human-centred development approach.
