Friday Talks: 3 May and Turkish Nationalism in the Context of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

The guest on this week’s Friday Talks programme was political scientist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Süleyman Güngör.

📌 Topic: “3 May and Turkism in the Context of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow”

During the programme, the significance of 3 May in Turkish political and intellectual life, the historical development of the ideology of Turkism, and its contemporary implications were examined from various perspectives. Furthermore, comprehensive assessments were made regarding the transformations the Turkish intellectual world has undergone from the past to the present, debates on nationalism, and perspectives for the future.

Enriched by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Süleyman Güngör’s historical perspectives, academic analyses, and extensive knowledge on the subject, the discussion proved to be highly productive and enlightening for the participants. Throughout the programme, attention was drawn to the importance of understanding the historical background of our intellectual landscape and developing a healthy perspective for the future.

We would like to thank Associate Professor Dr Süleyman Güngör for his valuable contributions and insights, and all our guests who participated in the programme.
