RAW: Raising Awareness on effective Waste management
Type: Erasmus+ VET
Project Number: 2021-1-PL01-KA220-VET000025342
Duration: 2021–2023
Role: Partner
The rapid depletion of natural resources and increasing environmental pressures have positioned the circular economy as a fundamental pillar of sustainable development. This model has promoted resource efficiency, waste reduction, and environmentally responsible economic growth.
In this context, the RAW – Raising Awareness on Efficient Waste Management project was implemented to enhance knowledge and awareness on circular economy and smart waste management. The project targeted trade professionals, local administrations, regional development agencies, entrepreneurs, and VET teachers, trainers, and mentors. Throughout its implementation, cooperation between municipalities and the business sector was strengthened, supporting the shift from traditional waste practices toward sustainable management models.
The project commenced on January 1, 2022 and was carried out over a 24-month period. The consortium consisted of partners from Poland, Portugal, Spain, Bulgaria, Türkiye, and Hungary.
Key outputs were successfully delivered:
-
A Circular Economy Strategies Guide for Business Environments was developed, including real-world case studies and a digital acceleration course on sustainable business practices.
-
A Circular Economy Awareness Application was created, offering micro-learning modules, self-assessment tools, strategy-building features, and a gamified ecological footprint tracker.
Through these results, the project contributed to increasing circular-economy-focused knowledge among target groups and encouraged wider adoption of sustainable waste management approaches across sectors.
