DigiWAAM Joint Staff Training Held in Ankara
Conducted under the coordination of Gazi University and with the partnership of Association of Academicians Union (AAU), the Erasmus+ KA220-VET project “DigiWAAM – WAAM in Digital Transformation: Innovative Manufacturing Training for Youth” organised a Joint Staff Training programme in Ankara between 15–19 May 2026.
The programme brought together academics, trainers, and technical experts from partner organisations across Türkiye, Greece, Italy, and Poland, strengthening international collaboration in the field of innovative vocational education and advanced manufacturing technologies. Representatives from Gazi University, Solidarity Tracks, University of Salento, ITS Cuccovillo, AAU, Wroclaw University of Science and Technology and Intecro Robotics actively participated in the training activities.
Throughout the programme, participants exchanged knowledge and experience on WAAM (Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing) technologies, digital manufacturing processes, and innovative vocational education methodologies. Training sessions covered topics such as the fundamentals of WAAM technology, digital design and simulation, material and welding technologies, quality control, and Industry 4.0 integration.
Technical sessions, group activities, and industry-oriented discussions enabled participants to explore the DigiWAAM training modules developed within the project in a practical and collaborative environment. In addition, evaluations and discussions were conducted on the VR-supported welding simulation system currently being developed as part of the project.
The Joint Staff Training programme contributed significantly to strengthening cooperation among partner institutions, enhancing knowledge exchange, and supporting the development of innovative and industry-oriented vocational education practices.
